Kids Ministry Grade 3-4 Camp Highlights

We brought 41 children in Grades 3 and 4 and 11 adult leaders to Kid’s Camp at Tall Timbers this summer. Our theme was called Storytime, and we studied parables, or stories that Jesus told, to teach us important truths. During our missions time, Calvary’s very own missions pastor, Clay Iles, shared with the children about the lives and needs of people in Uganda, our work with Bright Angel Church, and ways we are helping. A missions offering was taken during the camp.
“The children’s missions offering has been used to purchase food that will feed 100 families for two months at Kiryandongo Refugee Camp in Uganda.” —Clay Iles
The children swam, fished, canoed, played lots of games, enjoyed lots of ice cream, formed and strengthened friendships, and, most importantly, grew in their faith. We are following up with several children who made decisions to follow Jesus and the existing faith of others was strengthened.
“Kids Camp was a blessing to me I didn’t know I needed. I learned about myself, my child, and the children of others in a way I never would have outsideof a camp experience.” — Cori Richerson (Adult Leader)
“My boys were great. They were ‘all boy,’ as well as eager to grow in theirrelationship with Jesus. It was a special week for me, just watching them worship.” — Jerry Blackmon (Adult Leader)
