A Word from our Pastor

By now, you probably have heard me or another staff member recite our church’s mission statement – to lead every person to become a fully devoted follower of Christ. This is the guiding principle behind everything we do as a church. We want people to not only have a personal relationship with Jesus, but we want them to be “all-in” with their commitment to Him. We believe Scripture teaches us that a fully devoted follower has 4 essential traits. A fully devoted follower must be a biblically rooted believer, a deeply connected friend, a missions minded servant, and a faithful disciple maker.

Because the mission of our church is crucial and the traits are something we hope to produce in every person who attends, I think it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate when we see the mission and traits happening.

Recently, the Student Ministry hosted Kingdom Weekend. With 270+ students in attendance, they become more biblically rooted as they heard the Word of God preached in the main sessions. They developed deeply connected friendships in the small groups led by college students and young adults. They grew in their understanding of what it means to be a missions minded servant and a faithful disciple maker by being challenged throughout the weekend to be an ambassador for the Kingdom. Kingdom Weekend is a great example of our church accomplishing its mission!

But we see this happening in many places. In Life Groups, biblically rooted believers and deeply connected friendships are cultivated. At KidzJAM, children and volunteers alike learn what it means to be a missions minded servant. In our men’s and women’s ministries, we see many who grow into faithful disciple makers. God is doing a work in our midst, and we must look for ways to join Him in this work as we lead every person to become a fully devoted follower of Christ.

Will you join Him?
