Serving Together in Monroe

What a great weekend of serving Jesus right here in our own state! A team of 31 people from Calvary traveled to Monroe to join local churches and nearly 1,000 volunteers from across Louisiana for Send Relief Serve Tour: Monroe.

Throughout the weekend, volunteers spread across the city to serve churches, schools, neighborhoods, and families in practical ways. Calvary teams helped with projects including building, painting, and laying carpet, while others took the Gospel directly intoneighborhoods.

Three teams went door to door, handing out burgers and sharing the Good News of Jesus with the people they met. Conversations turned into opportunities for prayer and Gospel witness, and we are thankful that several people accepted Christ as their Savior.

Another large group from Calvary helped lead a Back-to-School Blast at a local pregnancy center. At least 58 moms, along with many children and other family members, attended the event. The children enjoyed a fun day together while moms received much-needed support and encouragement. Volunteers prayed with families, built relationships, and shared the hope of Christ throughout the event.
Across Monroe, the picture was much the same: people painting, landscaping, building, grilling, encouraging pastors, serving churches, and showing up for communities in need. The projects may have looked different, but the purpose was the same — one Church serving together for the sake of the Gospel.

Serve Tour: Monroe was made possible through partnerships with Send Relief, the Louisiana Baptist Convention, and the NortheastLouisiana Baptist Association, bringing churches together to make a lasting impact on some of the most vulnerable people in thecommunity.

We are grateful for every missions-minded servant from Calvary who braved the summer heat, gave their time, worked hard, prayed with people, and faithfully shared the Good News of Jesus.

Thank you for serving God’s Kingdom and representing Calvary so well in Monroe!
