Hope Shared in Honduras

Calvary’s Honduras mission team recently returned from the second year of our church-to-church partnership with Bethel Church in Teupasenti. Throughout the week, the team met practical needs while sharing the hope of the gospel through medical care, dental services, an eyeglass clinic, children’s VBS, youth soccer camp, home visits, and nightly worship services.

The team cared for 1,334 medical patients, filled 8,813 prescriptions, treated 158 dental patients with 196 extractions, and distributed approximately 380 reading glasses, 8 prescription glasses, 30 sunglasses, and 25 bottles of eye drops.

Children and students were a major part of the ministry. Around 60 children attended VBS, and approximately 130 students participated in the soccer camp, where they built relationships with team members and heard about Jesus. One special highlight was delivering the first shipment of Spanish children’s Bibles purchased through Calvary’s VBS Giving Challenge. Thanks to the generosity of our church, 480 Bibles were placed into the hands of children and families.

Most importantly, God changed lives. On the first day alone, 30 people professed faith in Christ, and team members spent the rest of the week following up with new believers through home visits, conversations, and worship gatherings. By the final evening, the worship tent was packed with people whose lives had been touched through the clinics, VBS, soccer camp, and personal invitations. Thank you to everyone who prayed, gave, and served. As our partnership with Bethel Church continues, we are excited to see how God will keep using this ministry to strengthen the local church in Teupasenti and reach more people with the gospel.
