The Quest: Men’s Group

IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO START! 5 WEEKS REMAIN!
Fridays :: 6:00am :: Calvary Hall
Few things in life are more frustrating than knowing you need to change, wanting to change, and trying to change but not changing.
At The Quest this semester, you will learn:
• How God’s power, not your willpower, leads to true transformation.
• The real reasons you do what you do.
• Why falling isn’t failure.
• The power of creating small habits that lead to big change.
• How to choose what you want most over what you want now.

Proverbs 27:17 – “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

DNOW 2024 Recap

Our Student Ministry had a great weekend with DNOW 2024, the last weekend in January. Our students invested in their spiritual lives; they invited their friends, bonded through discussion and activities, worshipped our Savior, studied the Word, and took steps to become more fully devoted followers of Christ. Our students aren’t just the church’s future; they are the church right now in their schools and spheres of influence. Thank you for being a church that invests in the next generation’s lives.

Equip Conference – January 27, 2024

On Saturday, January 27, over 100 adults gathered in our Chapel to hear from Middle School Pastor Blake Lewis and LPC Clint Davis as they helped parents navigate the use of cell phones, gaming, and social media with their children. The information presented was extensive, ranging from the appropriate age at which children should have a phone to what tools parents can use to monitor and control what their child or teenager sees or downloads on their phones. All information was presented through a Biblical worldview backed by Scripture while using clinical research to help parents and guardians understand what is going on and why it’s important to take a stand. It’s never too late!

Another $32,673 goes to fund short-term mission trips for Calvary members. $5,682 goes to our local Baptist association. The LCU and LSUA BCMs each receive $2,841.

The WMO is in addition to Calvary’s regular missions budget. All WMO money goes directly to the mission field or local ministries. No funds are used for administrative costs.

New Deacon’s Ordained

New Deacons Ordained
On January 14th, we ordained six new deacons into service at Calvary for 2024. The Biblical meaning of the word deacon is servant. We welcome these men as servants of Christ and our church as they care for our widows and others in need as well as assisting our pastors in ministry. We will also ordain Josh Jaques into our deacon body later this year.
